Thought Process:
I love composite designs. You can get so creative with them and do so many different things. I found this image last week and wanted to use her in a composite image. My goal was to give it a kind of dream-esque look. Almost like she's in this world that she's dreamt up.
Design Process:
I started by taking the girl out of her background using channels and masks. I placed her in a new background with green mountains. The mountains brightness didn't quite match up with the girl's so I lowered the brightness of both, giving it a darker look and then blending some clouds in. I felt like this gave it the dreamy look I wanted. I also put a blanket of clouds over her to help with the fantasy-dream look.
As for different design elements, I wanted it to mostly be darker, faded out colors. I don't know about you, but when I dream, nothing is quite as clear as I'd like it to be. I also thought it would look best if she was on the left side of the page. The way she has her arms under head, it made the most sense.
This design could be used for pretty much anything. Whether you want it for a book cover, a movie cover, some sort of advertisement or even someone's front page of their website. Composite photos are so versatile!
